I) CITREP+ Funding Support (ICT Professionals)

Programme Overview

CITREP+ supports local ICT professionals in keeping pace with technology shifts through continuous and proactive training. Through the training, they will acquire
technical skills sets that will enable them to remain relevant and productive.

To build a strong core of specialised Singaporean ICT professionals with Smart Nation capabilities, CITREP+ is now expanded to support entry-level professionals to build specialised ICT skills through broad-based training and certifications.

IMDA will work with training providers to develop and offer quality infocomm professional development technology courses and professional certifications that impart
knowledge and skills in relevant areas.

Programme Support

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for funding support under CITREP+, a trainee must:
  • Be a Singapore citizen at the point of course / certification examination commencement;
  • Meet the admission criteria set by the Course Provider or Certificate Awarding Body;
  • Be enrolled by the endorsed course provider or testing centre for the intended course or certification in IDA’s Infocomm Competency Management System (ICMS) before the commencement of the training course or certification.

For Organisation-Sponsored trainees, the sponsoring organisation must be incorporated or registered in Singapore. Employees of Local Government Agencies are not eligible. Employees of these organisations can, however, qualify for CITREP+ under the self-sponsored category.

Students who wish to attend CITREP+ courses or certifications will be required to produce letter of support and proof of matriculation from the PSEIs of Singapore. Full Time NSF or those that reached their ORD will need to produce relevant PSEI graduation certifications and/or proof of National Service enlistment.

II) Productivity and Innovative Credit - PIC (Scheme for all Businesses)

PIC scheme supports investments in Innovation and Productivity. Businesses can now enjoy huge tax saving in the form of Tax Deduction and/or Cash Payout All businesses in Singapore can enjoy 400% tax deduction or 40% cash payout for investments in innovation and productivity improvements under the Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) scheme offered by Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). III) SDF Funding Program ( Information Worker Series)

Through the WDA Skills Development Fund (SDF) under the Employer-based funding, employers can enjoy subsidies as high as 90% for staff training costs though the subsidy may differ for various courses. The subsidy rate significantly reduces the training costs for employers. 

Employer-based funding is available for 3 types of training: 

Certifiable Skills Training, which refers to training that leads to national or industry-wide certification. Non-certifiable Skills Training, which refers to training that does not lead to national or industry-wide certification. Overseas Training, which are training programmes conducted outside Singapore, Malaysia or Indonesia. IV) SkillsFuture Credit (Scheme for all Singapore Citizens)

SkillsFuture Credit aims to encourage individual ownership of skills development and lifelong learning. All Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening credit of S$500 from January 2016. Your credit will not expire and the government will provide periodic top-ups, so you may accumulate your credit. More details on
