Recently Microsoft released its latest Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Preview (link3) version. It has made .NET Framework open-source and cross platform. Our training expert Anugerah, a leading .NET trainer in the developers’ community, says, “Now .NET can be used on Mac/Linux machines as well. Earlier it supported Windows only as it was closed-source, hence non-Windows users found it difficult to utilize this powerful programming model. Now being open source, it can be extensively used on all platforms. It would be like a dream come true to do programming with just one language for .net Android/iOS/Windows apps.”
Another important update is its easier connection to Cloud to allow organizations to develop, maintain, deploy and test environments on Azure.
Anugerah, more fondly known as Nugy, says, “Such upgrades will surely provide great experiences for the developers as around 6 million developers are using.NET for various application developments. The main release of Visual Studio 2015 is set for later part of the year.” He further adds, “The recent announcement by Microsoft to make its Visual Studio IDE free for students’ community will see an exponential growth of software applications in the near future aiming for Cloud-First, Mobile-First world.”
